Introduced for the 2025–26 NBA season, the Trophy Patch is a new symbol of recognition worn only once during each honoree’s first game of the year. Positioned above the Nike Swoosh, the patch mirrors the design of the player’s award trophy, marking the first time individual achievements have been celebrated directly on-court. Only 35 special Trophy Patches were issued league-wide.
This home ‘Classic Edition’ jersey features the All-Rookie First Team Patch and was issued to Zach Edey on October 22, 2025, during the Kia NBA Tip-Off, when the Memphis Grizzlies played the New Orleans Pelicans.
Edey was inactive for this game. The Grizzlies beat the Pelicans, 128-122.
Zach Edey emerged from an impressive college career at Purdue, where he was a two-time Naismith College Player of the Year known for his dominant interior presence, exceptional rebounding, and efficient scoring around the basket. The Memphis Grizzlies selected Edey with the ninth overall pick in the 2024 NBA Draft.
In the NBA, Edey quickly established himself as a force in the paint. His size, wingspan, and natural instincts made him an immediate impact player on both ends of the floor, anchoring the defense and providing reliable interior scoring. His physicality and ability to alter shots have proven to be valuable assets for Memphis as the team continues to build around its young core.
During the 2024–25 season, Edey averaged 9.2 points, 8.3 rebounds, and 1 assist per game, earning NBA All-Rookie First Team honors. His consistent production and presence in the post solidified his reputation as one of the league’s most promising young centers.
