A Christian Dior couture fourreau cocktail dress and jacket, ’Aimant’ collection, Autumn-Winter, 1956, labelled and numbered 82029, comprising: slim-line columnar empire line cocktail dress, of orientalist peach and black printed satin, lavishly adorned with black seed beads, nacrslivers, brass and copper embroidery in the form of small buildings and figures, probably by Brossin, vertical bands of seed beads and black sequins run up the sides of the gown and continue over the straps, with non-corseted organza lining; the voluminous matching jacket with wide lapels and lining of black velvet, bust 97cm, 38in, (2)
