This model revisits the famous bamboo handle, introduced by Gucci in the 1940s as an innovative solution to the shortage of materials after World War II, and has since become an emblem of the house. Gucci’s Diana NM Bamboo bag (model Nymphaea) takes its name as a tribute to Princess Diana of Wales, one of the most iconic figures of 20th century fashion, closely associated with the use of the brand’s bags during the 1990s. In particular, Diana was photographed on numerous occasions with bamboo-handled models, which consolidated this element as an iconic symbol of the firm.
