  was an American designer and artist\, known for fusing fashion and punk c
 ulture with contemporary art. He stood out in the 80s and 90s for his bold
  designs\, with neon colors and graffiti inspired by street art. He collab
 orated with Louis Vuitton in 2001 under the direction of Marc Jacobs\, cre
 ating the iconic Graffiti line. After his death in 2004\, Louis Vuitton la
 unched in 2009 a reissue tribute to his work.
