Originally called G1244, this design was one of the most used by former first lady Jackie Kennedy. The story goes that in 1964, three years after the Constance was launched, Jackie Kennedy Onassis walked into a Gucci boutique and left with six of these crescent-shaped bags. From then on, she was rarely photographed without one under her arm, which popularized the style and led the house to change the name of the Constance (as it was previously known) to "Jackie".
