Since Gucci launched its first Jackie bag in 1961, this silhouette has been one of the most emblematic pieces of the Italian house. Originally conceived as a hobo bag with smooth lines and a semicircular shape, it soon earned the nickname "Jackie" from First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy, who carried it with elegance and naturalness, making it a symbol of sophistication and timeless style. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Gucci experimented with shape and materials, modernizing its presence without renouncing its classic essence. The most significant relaunch came with Alessandro Michele, who recaptured the original spirit of the bag for the fall-winter 2020 collection and renamed it Jackie 1961. In this case, the 100 Jackie celebrates the brand’s centenary.
