Introduced for the 2025–26 NBA season, the Trophy Patch is a new symbol of recognition worn only once during each honoree’s first game of the year. Positioned above the Nike Swoosh, the patch mirrors the design of the player’s award trophy, marking the first time individual achievements have been celebrated directly on-uniform. Only 35 special Trophy Patches were issued league-wide.

Carlton “Bub” Carrington was selected 14th overall in the first round of the 2024 NBA Draft out of the University of Pittsburgh. Known for his confident scoring, court vision, and composure beyond his years, Carrington quickly became one of the most exciting young players on a rebuilding Washington Wizards roster.
