MESH

Introduced for the 2025–26 NBA season, the Trophy Patch is a new symbol of recognition worn only once during each honoree’s first game of the year. Positioned above the Nike Swoosh, the patch mirrors the design of the player’s award trophy, marking the first time individual achievements have been celebrated directly on-uniform. Only 35 special Trophy Patches were issued league-wide.

This away ‘Icon Edition’ jersey features the All-Defensive First Team Patch and was worn in the 1st Half by Amen Thompson on October 21, 2025, during the NBA Tip-Off, when the Houston Rockets played the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Amen Thompson led the new-look Houston Rockets—who added star Kevin Durant this past offseason—into a prime-time matchup against the defending champion Oklahoma City Thunder. The versatile wing showcased his two-way impact, pouring in 18 points, grabbing 4 rebounds, dishing out 5 assists, and adding 1 block and 1 steal. Defensively, Thompson spent most of the night guarding Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, holding him in check for much of the first half. Despite his strong performance, the Rockets couldn’t outlast the Thunder, falling 125–124 in a double-overtime thriller.

Going Deeper | Amen Thompson

Amen Thompson was drafted with the 4th overall pick in the 2023 NBA Draft after emerging as one of the most dynamic prospects to come out of Overtime Elite. A uniquely gifted athlete with elite open-court speed, Thompson entered the league with a reputation for his defensive versatility, slashing ability, and advanced playmaking instincts for his size.

Since arriving in Houston, Thompson has quickly begun to showcase the two-way potential that made him a top-five selection. At the time of cataloging, he owns career averages of 11.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 3.3 assists per game—numbers that highlight both his activity level and his multidimensional impact. His rebounding and defensive presence, in particular, have stood out early in his career, with his combination of size, lateral quickness, and instincts allowing him to guard multiple positions effectively.

Thompson’s immediate contributions earned him a spot on the 2023–24 All-Rookie Second Team, confirming his status as one of the league’s most intriguing young talents. With his rare athletic profile, improving offensive skill set, and growing confidence as a secondary playmaker, he remains a foundational piece for the Rockets’ future and a player widely viewed as having significant long-term upside.
