Paolo Banchero was selected with the first overall pick in the 2022 NBA Draft by the Orlando Magic following a standout season at Duke University. Since entering the league, Banchero has rapidly established himself as one of the premier young stars in the NBA. He was named the 2022–23 Kia NBA Rookie of the Year and was a unanimous selection to the NBA All-Rookie First Team. In 2023–24, he earned his first All-Star selection after averaging 22.6 points, 6.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists per game, becoming the youngest player in Magic history to lead the team in all three categories.

During the 2024–25 season, Banchero elevated his play once again, averaging 25.9 points, 7.5 rebounds, and 4.8 assists per game. He became one of only three players aged 22 or younger in league history to surpass 4,000 points, 1,300 rebounds, and 900 assists within his first three seasons, joining LeBron James and Luka Dončić. Banchero also recorded a career-high 50-point game and helped lead Orlando back to postseason contention.
