After being selected with the first overall pick of the 2015 NBA Draft, Karl Anthony Towns (“KAT”) has steadily worked his way up the ranks in the NBA to become one of the most well-known faces in the franchise. In his rookie season, Towns wasted no time establishing himself as a force to be reckoned with, averaging an impressive 18.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, and 1.7 blocks per game, earning him the well-deserved title of Rookie of the Year. Towns’ trajectory of success continued as he was named to the league’s 2018 All-NBA Team, showcasing his skills with averages of 21.3 points, 12.3 rebounds, 2.4 assists, and 1.4 blocks per game, while shooting an impressive 42.1 percent from beyond the arc. He’ll be expected to carry much of the interior responsibility defensively, while also being one of the team’s primary offensive options, especially in crucial moments. His health and consistency will be key, given that his contributions were hugely important in New York’s deep playoff push.
