Amare Stoudemire’s arrival in New York City during the 2010 offseason brought immediate impact to the franchise, as the forward’s ferocious offense and leadership propelled the Knicks into playoff contention and earned him legitimate MVP consideration. In 2011, Stoudemire was presented with his latest signature sneaker, the Air Max Sweep Thru, which served as the inspiration for this Nike Air Force 1 Bespoke, created as part of the Nike Sportswear: Always On campaign. The design celebrates Stoudemire’s status as a bona fide superstar and was distributed in extremely limited quantities during his live appearance at 21 Mercer.

The sneaker features a camouflage-inspired upper, derived from the Sweep Thru strap and realized through the Lasering technique on royal blue tumbled leather. Embroidered on the heel is Stoudemire’s nickname, ‘STAT’ (Standing Tall And Talented), while the ‘A’ on the midsole is highlighted in orange to reference his first initial. Each pair was completed with a custom hang-tag, individually addressed to the recipient of the giveaway, and is accompanied by Nike wooden shoe trees, preserving the silhouette and condition of the Bespoke.
