 n\nCreated for McQueen’s Autumn–Winter 2007 collection\, look 44 is a
highlight from one of McQueen’s most identifiable and collectable collec
tions. This gown is adorned with beading that appears to resemble locks of
hair\, often associated with witchcraft and femininity - key themes from
this collection.\n\nThis gown also reflects the designer’s interest in p
ersonal history and the legacy of the Salem witch trials\, in which his an
cestor Elizabeth Howe was among those condemned. As such\, the collection
was titled ‘In Memory of Elizabeth Howe\, Salem 1692’.
