  (b. 1941) is a self-taught architect whose minimalist yet monumental buil
dings demonstrate his mastery of concrete\, geometry\, and light. Winner o
f the 1995 Pritzker Prize\, Ando’s notable works include the Church of t
he Light in Osaka and most recently a lavender-planted hilltop shrine cont
aining a giant Buddha in Hokkaido. While the majority of his work is loca
ted in his home country of Japan\, he is also famed for several internatio
nal projects\, including the Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth in Texas and
152 Elizabeth\, a residential tower in New York City as well as the Cerro
Pelon Ranch in New Mexico for designer Tom Ford.\n\nIt is only fitting the
n\, for the Octo Finissimo—characterized by its sleek\, modernist form
—to be reinterpreted by the master architect with the release of the fir
st Tadao Ando Edition in 2019.\n\nThe present timepiece was released in a
limited edition of 160 and joins the titanium Reference 103245 and the Oct
o Finissimo Tourbillon Carbon to form the trilogy of Tadao Ando Edition Oc
to Finissimo watches.\n\nThe case and bracelet of the Reference 103534 are
made of matte black ceramic with a textured\, sandblasted finish\, featur
ing a rich blue colored dial\, meant to recall the depths of the night sky
or the surface of a rippling lake. The yellow gold crescent around five o
’clock recalls the earliest stages of a new moon\, called Mikazuki in J
apanese\, and symbolizes of rebirth and the passage of time. The moon on t
he surface of the dial can be doubly interpreted as the moon in the night
sky or a reflection of the moon on water.\n\nWe are pleased to offer the p
resent 103534 complete with box and papers in excellent condition.
