A Zandra Rhodes printed chiffon ensemble, ’New York and Indian Feathers’ collection, Autumn-Winter 1970-71
labelled, of white chiffon printed with peach, green and grey ’Indian Feather Sunspray’ repeats, the skirt with an elasticated waist, the curved overskirt with wrap-ties, waist approx 66cm, 26in; the blouse with wide curved hem, scalloped chiffon edging to sleeves, outsized; together with a matching asymetrically cut wrap sarong (3)
The Zandra Rhodes Archive
The ’Indian Feather Sunspray’ print was inspired by Zandra’s third trip to the United States, where she visited the Museum of the American Indian in New York, which showcases Native American art and artifacts.
